Easter in the House of Light - The most peaceful celebration for many for years

There's a lot to write about the House of Light Mothers' Home, but you can't say that life here is boring. There are so many colourful activities organised for the children by the staff and visiting volunteers that there is no question of boredom. Easter was celebrated in the House of Light.

We started the month of March with an Easter drawing competition, which consisted of drawing an Easter bunny and writing an Easter poem. We received some great entries, all of which adorned the school notice board.

The small garden was decorated with beautiful donations of flowers from donors in Maglod and District 17. The mums enthusiastically planted the flowers, making the entrance to the home even more welcoming. The children were also keen to help with the decorations, making Easter eggs to decorate the bushes in a creative activity.

On the weekend before Easter, families were invited to a bunny party in Maglodi, where creative activities included folk games and a bunny petting zoo. Everyone who sang for Mother Bunny received a gift, but there was also a buffet with lots of goodies for the little ones.

On Easter Sunday, families could attend the Easter service of the Rákoscsaba congregation. Many families visit the congregation on weekends, where they can not only practice their faith life, but also have a shared, intimate conversation. The new leaders of the congregation also feel that mothers need some good words and a little spiritual help. Meanwhile, the children can enjoy a variety of recreational activities in the youth room.

Easter Monday morning began with prayer and hymns in the House of Light. Afterwards, a communal Easter table of plenty awaited families, beautifully decorated and filled with all kinds of goodies. Boiled ham, eggs, fresh cucumbers, braided bread. Mothers were eager to prepare a feast to delight the children. Many had not had such a peaceful feast for years, and many wept at this touching moment of peace.

After breakfast, the most exciting activity was the egg hunt. This year the range of gifts was extended, as each child received a surprise gift in addition to the chocolate eggs collected.

This year, the Easter anticipation was prepared with the greatest enthusiasm by the new manager of the House of Light, Mrs. Anna Fülöpné Molnár and her staff. For us the greatest happiness is the smiles of the children.

Thank you to all the volunteers and donors who help us in our sacrificial work. We also thank the staff of the House of Light, who never run out of love and professional enthusiasm. They are the ones who go above and beyond in difficult times.

"Through him you have believed in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, that you may believe and hope in God."
First Letter of Peter Part 1 verse 21
